The Jist of Software Evaluation

     As educational leaders we know that the cost of education has and is burgeoning because of the mandate to provide effective and relevant education in the development of 21st century learners who can be digital citizens. Furthermore, the provision and use of technology by educators can make them more efficient but more importantly, enhance and reinvigorate the teaching-learning process. Therefore, the ability to evaluate software is a necessary tool as it is imperative that in all decisions undertaken, we consider the opportunity costs and the rate of return on our investment, as the money could always be utilised elsewhere.

   Therefore, in order to successfully realize the digital transformation process is compatibility between systems, all software should be evaluated to ensure compatibility with the current system and other applications, otherwise it will cause many problems and ultimately dysfunction. For this reason, the software evaluation team must examine the compatibility of software assets with other software, hardware and systems when evaluating software inventory.

    The software evaluation team can comprise of the

• The Principal/ Deputy Principal
• ITC
• Heads of Departments
• Member of the Board
• President of the PTA
• Member of the Old Scholars' Association
• Staff Representative

The evaluation of software will be completed based on an appropriate criteria which has been set.
